Alive and Lubricated from the Butler brothers is so similar to their film Bums that if you were to enter the theater halfway through, you might not be sure which film you are watching.
The story is basic. Dickey has been dumped by his gal, so he gets together with his buddies to drown his sorrows. I'm all for beer drinking and I've been known to tip a few myself from time to time. But watching guys sitting around drinking beer and talking about women is not interesting in itself. The big problem wiith this film is the acting. Simply put - it's horrible. The acting is forced and the dialogue is poor.
Alive and Lubricated is shot on black and white and it has the same style visually as Bums. The Butler brothers know how to technically put together a feature film. I'd like to see them tackle a film written by someone else. Rounding up some serious actors would be another good idea.
