I admit it. I don't know much about comics. I know that comic book fans take this stuff very seriously, so I will try not offend anyone with my ignorance. However, I do like movies and I think that films based on comic books still need to tell a cohesive, interesting story without insulting our intelligence. Most of the animated garbage out there nowadays falls short in that regard. Thankfully, the Ultimate Avengers movie isn't one of them.
Ultimate Avengers: The Movie is inspired by Marvel's best-selling books, The Ultimates. Captain America is the leader and as he (and his friends Iron Man, Thor, Giant Man, Wasp and The Hulk) battle evil, they tell a tale of courage, and fighting for what's right. A little corny, but hey, what do you expect from a guy named Captain America?
Ultimate Avengers: The Movie has a solid script, and it looks decent. The voice overs are a little outlandish, but that is to be expected of a story of this nature. For fans of animated features, this is about as solid as it gets. Great job by the folks at Marvel. Let's hope they continue to put out feature length animated films, because this is a great start.
